Don't Laugh Tony Stark, Iron Patriot Rox Too (Look What I Got 2014-05-19)

Armed and ready! The Eagle has landed!

Last week, I finally got my 2nd Diecast MMS - the Iron Patriot Movie Masterpiece by Hot Toys. I got it from my usual source of collectibles - Figmation. It's great that the owner gave me the honor of having one from the 1st batch of delivery and I get to enjoy the figure early. Join me in the unboxing.

As with the 1st Diecast MMS, the War Machine Mark II, this one comes in a brown outer box to protect the actual box.

The box has the similar box design as WM II's box albeit in blue/red color scheme and a different artwork. We already got a glimpse of the Mark XLII's box, also similar in design but in gold/red colors. It's clear that the boxes of these diecast MMS will have the same design treatment, at least for the Iron Man 3 product line.

I couldn't contain my excitement while unboxing, that's why I made sure to take a snapshot of every step of the way so that I can share my excitement with everyone. This maybe my 2nd diecast, but it's the first one that actually appeared in the movie (War Machine II did not). I can't imagine how excited will I be with Mark XLII.

There it is. A sight for sore eyes. The smell of a high quality collectible.

I'm surprised that it comes with two alternate face plates, one that is fully closed (normal), and one that is slightly opened (slightly raised side panels). This accessory wasn't mentioned before.

Most parts of the figure are covered with cellophane, specially the moving parts, protecting it from rubbing against other painted parts. There's also a piece of foam underneath the shoulder armor.

Turning to the backside, you can see that black clamshell. It contains the parts of the base assembly as well as the batteries.

Notice that the manual is a booklet type unlike the one that comes with WM II.

And here it is, standing in front of me. Just took a few shots as I inspect the figure. Everything seems fine. I'm really amazed on how it looks. I still prefer the War Machine Mark II colors, but this one rocks with those bright eye-catching colors. I'm glad that I picked this one as well.
