Heartbreaker? Or Walletbreaker?

Hot Toys finally announced the famous Iron Man Mark XVII armor under their 1/6th Scale Movie Masterpiece product line - the Hot Toys: Iron Man 3 - 1/6th Scale Mark XVII Heartbreaker MMS. It looks pretty awesome but as usual, haters gonna hate.

So it's just another Iron Man armor they say... They're sick of seeing more of these armors they say... It only have a few seconds of screen time they say. Well there are a lot of haters for every Hot Toys release, but I can assure you, Hot Toys won't release something they didn't find bankable. And for Iron Man armors, there's whole lot of fans waiting for this, and that includes me.

So for a fan like me, it doesn't matter if they release all the armors under "House Party Protocol". It does not matter if it has only a few second of screen-time. Just when did the screen-time becomes a big decision factor of getting an awesome figure? Remember the War Machine Mark II? It didn't even appeared in the Iron Man 3 movie, but it's still a cool version of War Machine which makes it a great addition to anyone's Iron Man collection.

So much for that justification. I think you understand what I'm trying to say here. Regardless of what haters think, this newest addition to the Iron Man armors by Hot Toys is really looking great. I was just wondering why they release it as a non-diecast. It was supposed to be a Die-cast release when it was announced back in April.

It doesn't matter if it ended up not being a die-cast though, I can't really even tell what's the advantage of it.

I also found it to be a little too short with accessories, only three pairs of hands including the pair aready attached. No Robert Downy Jr. head-sculpt, that's because he never even wore this armor. And no alternate battle damaged parts, that's because the Mark XVII was actually blown-up during the "Clean Slate Protocol" scene. I can't really think of any other accessory that should go with it, but they should have at least give it a nice diorama-styled base.

Release date: Q1, 2014

So what do you think? (I'm not talking to you haters). For the price of 25,000 yen or (249.99 USD at Sideshow), I think it isn't too pricey for a Hot Toys Iron Man armor. Well that's thanks to the lack accessories. My only problem is that it is going to be a Q1 2014 release, about the same release date as Mark 42, War Machine Mark II and Man of Steel - Superman. Four Hot Toys release in one quarter will definitely be a wallet breaker. I don't believe they will be able to deliver all that on the first quarter though.

It is now available on your usual hobby shops like Figmation and Animarket. I already placed a preorder at Figmation. Great price offer! It's still a wallet breaker but at least I will have a few bucks left to get a new wallet :)
