It's almost time for Iron Man 3 and there's a total craze of Iron Man 3 everywhere. Adding to the hype are these Iron Man Hot Toys merchandise. From 29th of April until 5th of May, Hot Toys and Action City are bringing every Iron Man 1/6th scaled figures released to date (and some upcoming releases) to Singapore, in an exhibit at Action City Bugis Junction.
Then there is the upcoming Mark XLII Power Pose alongside with Iron Patriot Diecast Movie Masterpiece. While the Mark XLII Power Pose isn't an articulated figure, it's nonetheless amazingly detailed. Heck it looks a lot better than the Iron Patriot Diecast Movie Masterpiece. Maybe it's because of the dynamic pose. I bet other 1/6th scaled Movie Masterpiece figures cannot make that more than 90 degree bends on the thighs and knees. I think it beats Kotobukiya's ArtFX Iron Man 3 Mark XLII considering just a small price difference and taking into account that both are 1/6th scale fixed pose figure. I didn't preorder this one and went for the Mark XLII Movie Masterpiece version thinking that it will be superior because of the articulation. But if the Movie Masterpiece won't look as good as this Power Pose version, then I might just regret my decision.
The Iron Patriot Diecast Movie Masterpiece on the other hand is nice, cool and all, but it looks lame next to the Mark XLII Power Pose. Maybe it's because of the uninteresting pose. Those exhibit organizers should have matched that dynamic pose of Mark XLII. But regardless of the pose, Iron Patriot looks attractive. That shiny finish and color scheme gives that really snazzy look. A great addition to the Iron Man armor collection. But I kinda like the War Machine color scheme better though. I hope they will release the Iron Man 3 version of War Machine later even if its going to be under Power Pose.
On the next display cabinet is Iron Man 3 Tony Stark. When I first saw this one on the promo images, I wasn't really interested, cause it looks like some lifeless doll that looks like Robert Downey Jr. But after seeing this display with my own eyes, I was blown away with its facial features. It really looked like a miniaturized Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark. Just don't mind the hair since putting a real hair would make him look like a doll (which is the case of Scarlett Johansson's Black Window in the Avengers). Notice the eyes? It looks like a real tear-wet eyes with those red stuff on the sides that looks like nerves around the eyes. Realistically detailed. He may not be totally covered with armor, but seeing him with armors on legs and arms gives you a really good Iron Man 3 collectible. Having seen this makes me wanna get this one someday.
And there is the limited edition Battle Damaged Mark VII from the Avengers. This isn't the same normal Mark VII that was released earlier but a Battle Damaged version as its name implies. It comes with a battle damaged alien weapon and a diorama base featuring the Alien’s corpse from the Avengers movie. I'm not a huge fan of damaged versions but this one also really looks great.
Next we got the Mark VII from the Avengers, the normal version that was released earlier and not the battle damaged version. But you can still display it with a lightly battle damaged armor parts though. This is the special edition that comes with the Holographic Mark VII collectible. That green thingy which I don't find interesting. I missed this one, I hope they will re-release it under Power Pose or Diecast Movie Masterpiece someday.
Below are the rest of the 1/6th scales Iron Man armors, from Mark I to Mark VII and including the two versions of War Machine, Iron Monger, the Suit-Up Gantry, Hall of Armors, and the Special edition releases.
