The Wait For The 38th Is Over

"Jarvis, get Igor to steady this thing!" "...then take the money of those Hot Toys collectors". Yeah, just a mere few seconds of screentime and wasn't even seen fighting against the extremists. It just did some heavy lifting, but it became one of the most anticipated Hot Toys MMS.

The 1/6th scale Mark XXXVIII Igor is now officially being announced as a part of Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece. It had been in a number of convention and exhibits this year so this announcement wasn't really a big surprise. What's surprising now is that we're seeing it in lots of different poses. I have seen a prototype of Igor myself during the STGCC and it's looks amazingly detailed and it's totally huge, even bigger that the Iron Monger MMS.

It was usually displayed on a single pose only on all the past toy fairs and exhibits and there wasn't any label. At first I was thinking that it might be released under the Power Pose Series, with less articulation just like the Red Snapper. Although the figure looks no less than amazing, the pose looked lame and might held me back. But with this announcement, it is now confirmed that it will be released as MMS with 25 points of articulation. I might just try my best to own one as this big guy will look insanely cool next to other 1/6th Scale Iron Man collectibles.

Aside from its sheer volume and size, the painting details looks absolutely great. It isn't painted in a fresh out-of-factory style, but in a semi worn-out armor with all those realistic paint scratches. There is a high level of details on the back side with all those gears and stuff. And it seems that there's some movable parts on its spine, replicating the scene on the movie, pretty cool.

No matter what a lot of haters say about too many Hot Toys Iron Man releases, I don't care. I'm loving 'em as they will all look really great on my display shelves. No announcement of price and release schedule yet, so stay tuned for more announcements.

Update: Hot Toys Japan revealed the price and release date. It will be released on November 2014 for 48,000 yen (about 490 USD). It's twice the price as an average Iron Man MMS, but you got about one year to save for huge collectible ;)
