Last weekend, 25th and 26th of August, the Chara Hobby (C3 X Hobby) 2012 was held in Japan. This event was sponsored by Dengenki Hobby and Hobby Japan. And as usual, there are lots of new model kits and anime figures on display, but what caught my attention the most are the MegaHouse's new POPs, particularly Eustass Kidd.
Yes, Kidd will come an optional arm which shows his devil fruit powers. This arm as you can see in the photos is huge and really looks fantastic. The face isn't the same face as we have seen before as the mouth is opened widely now. And from what I understand, Eustass Kidd is now under a new POP subline which is called POP Neo Maximum, and not under POP Neo DX anymore. I still don't know anything about this POP Neo Maximum subline and what kinds of POP figures falls on this category, but we'll see later.
Shiliew on the other hand is now in full color. It was first seen back at Megahobby EXPO Spring 2012 in gray prototype stage, but it was absent during the Wonder Festival 2012 Summer. And now that I have seen it on color, it looks alright to me but I am not paying much attention since I have no interest on getting it and no plans on completing the Blackbeard POPs for now.
Other characters such as Perhona SA, Killer DX and Chopper SA (Kung Fu Point) were the same as they were shown at Wonder Festival 2012 Summer, no new updates, nor price and release dates announced yet. But we should be seeing at least one of them to be announced for September preorder which will then be a December release. And by the way, POP Sailing Again - Franky was still a no show in this event as it was during the Wonder Festival 2012 Summer. I wonder what helds his appearance.
